We have developed upholstery stain removers made specifically for difficult stains. Using one of our approved cleaners developed for our Care® Division, apply a small amount of the appropriate Upholstery Cleaner to the spot. This scale indicates the acidity or alkalinity of a liquid. The scale is from 1-14, the lower numbers of 1-6 represent acid solutions, the higher numbers of 9-14 represent alkaline solutions. A solution in the 7-8 pH scale is considered neutral. Water has approximately a pH of 7, bleach around 5 and hair shampoo around 9; if soapy, alkaline cleaning solutions are used on fabrics, and not thoroughly rinsed out, the residual left in the fabric will attract dirt.
